Songs and albums that were released between October 2018 to October 2019 are eligible to be nominated this year. Data regarding sales and usage on streaming sites until mid-December will be gathered from the Gaon Chart and reflected in the results. Starting from the 32nd Golden Disc Awards, online votes has not been a criteria that determines the winners of the main categories. Voting will only take place for the Popularity Award. The awards ceremony’s executive committee and 50 industry specialists will be screening nominees that were chosen based on quantitative measures and evaluate them based on qualitative measures like the song or album’s musical achievement and influence on society. The evaluation will account for 40 percent of the criteria that determines the winners.
